last saturday i went twice to the local library's booksale.
yes. twice.
that's two times to browse through books.
yes. books.
and stories. and tales. and thoughts. and learning.
it was a most wonderful time.
this latest adventure of my love of books made me so very happy. and made my sweetie glad for me that i was so happy, he said...."it's worth the end result." meaning, he knows i brought more "stuff" into the small Russell house however i did go overboard with telling him all my excitement, but he didn't mind.
here's a sampling of what i had gotten-most at a quarter a piece. (which did add up as i spent, gulp, about $25, so guess how many books (though some are SUPER small) i brought home?!?!?)
the incredible journey
sounder
robin hood
a little princess (x 2, different publications)
sing down the moon
snow treasure
2 itty bitty baby books (from American Girl, will be gifts for a sweet sweet niece on Easter)
about 9 "Babybug" magazines (which would actually cost $5 each if subscribing!)
my brother, Sam, is dead
the little prince
aesop's fables
a book about world markets, for children
an A Beka animal book for small children
a bible peek and play book
a few more little bible play books
a baby einstein little board book
a photography book for myself
shiloh
beethoven lives upstairs
rebecca of sunnybook farm
a wright brother activity book
stuart little
house at pooh corner
julie of the wolves
sadako and the thousand paper cranes
3 c.s. lewis books, the last 3 in Narnia Series
miracles on maple hill
and many, many more. a lot of these are going to be great homeschooling books in a year or two, since Ella is at a 3rd to 4th grade reading level. there's also many non fiction books (ie. Titanic and frontier and Marie Curie topics) for children. It was a HUGE score.
i cannot WAIT for the next book sale to attend. since i browse through many many homeschooling curriculums and options i have seen a huge variety of things that could be studied/read so my mental list is growing...and growing. and it is such a neat thing to go searching for such topics and titles. of books!
ever since i was little, i adored books. there's quite a collection of antique books in this house from when i enjoyed collecting old school books and the like when i was little. my dad has given me this love of books, and it is a blessing. i hope that my own children can see my love of books (and reading) and that they can in turn appreciate the satisfaction of book sale finds and good reads someday.
blessings....

those are some fantastic finds amy :)

Wow! You totally made out! That's awesome! We have Half-Price Books here, and I love their collectibles section. Books from when I was a kid... even some from when my parents were young. So much fun. :-)
